The school celebrated National Sports Day with a range of exciting games and sports activities for students. The event featured competitive basketball and volleyball matches along with a thrilling kho-kho game. Fun filled races like the lemon and spoon race and the three-legged race added an extra layer of excitement and engagement for younger students. The day was a perfect blend of competition and enjoyment, encouraging students to showcase their athletic talents and emphasizing the importance of sports and physical fitness in daily life.
A cultural programme to celebrate the most popular festival “Harela” was organized by Nagar Nigam, Bhimtal on 19 July 2024 at Ramleela Ground. It is celebrated in kumaun, a region of Uttarakhand. Harela is a time to express gratitude to nature and pray for a successful yield. It is believed to have been celebrated since ancient times by the people of Uttarakhand to honour nature and seek blessing for a good harvest. The festival also has religious significance as it is dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati who are worshipped for prosperity and well – being. It also serves as a reminder of the importance of preserving the environment. Our school children participated in different programmes and were appreciated by Chief Guest. These were not competitive programmes.
Red Colour Day was celebrated on 25/05/2024 at GMGS among the tiny tots of the school. The celebration was to enhance the cognitive abilities and improvement in motor skills. On this day children along with their teachers performed different activities. Children wore red coloured dresses. Red coloured fruits e.g. apples, straw berries, tomatoes etc were arranged. They used different sports equipments of red colour. Children made cards using red colour. Each child enjoyed and participated in most of the activities.
School organized a study tour for class IX and X to ‘Indo-Dutch Horticulture Technologies (p) Ltd’. It is a research organization located at Chafi area in Bhimtal. It’s a joint project of India and Netherlands that work together for the improvement in agricultural technologies like aeroponics, hydroponics & vertical farming. This organization has collaborated with COCA-COLA company for a project ‘UNNATI APPLE MISSION’ in states like Uttarakhand and Himanchal Pradesh.
